If you missed the rally here is a recap and some pictures for you to check out.

The rally was blessed by beautiful sunny Philadelphia weather and many tasty microbrews. A handful of riders showed up with beer in hand to compete for the crown of rally king and queen. The events of the day were, a 6+ mile rally course, jackass trials, and a dumb-ass duel slalom. Most ralliers had the moxie to complete all three knee breaking events...here are the highlights.

Event #1: The Rally Course
The rally course was a XC style course consisting of singletrack, doubletrack, dirt road, tunnels, fields, a beer stop, and local kids on BMX bikes. The 6+ mile course was to be ridden three times with optional beer stops in-between laps. Lap one was considered the "parade" lap, all (most) of the ralliers stayed together on the lap enjoying the local trails while chanting "Rally! Rally!". On the first singletrack section a large group of local kids on BMX bikes were encountered and mixed in with the rally crew...these kids could ride! The first lap went pretty well with only a couple of people getting lost. Fuzzy (part of the Delaware crew) was knocked out of the rally early with a sliced tire sidewall...better luck next year Fuzzy. To complete the lap the ralliers descended to the beer stop/tunnel. Most ralliers stopped riding to enjoy some refreshing beverages before heading out on their next lap. Philly local Jimmy ripped the hell out of the rally course completing the 3 laps 30 minutes before anyone else! Ed was a rally standout competing in a sexy black party dress. Cory, possibly the bravest rallier, completed his rally lap without pants! Props to Elk for setting up the rally course.

Event #2: Jackass Trials
Possibly the hardest event of the day. Few ralliers were able to complete the trials course without shedding some blood. The trials course ran through the beer stop, which made for some interesting obstacles and rowdy fans. Dan from Delaware was the first to complete the trials course with only one dab, his secret was that the bike he was riding is owned by Britney Spears (no shit!) Jay incorporated beer coolers into his trials run. I had a beer smashed on my bars (an honest mistake). Mike from Philly was the only rider to clean the trials course aboard his Fisher 40 Caliber. Thanks to Jay and Elk for laying out the trials course.

Event #3: Dumb-ass Duel Slalom
The ralliers were forced out of the beer stop/tunnel to a grassy knoll to compete in the slalom. This event required two riders at a time to ride up the slalom course, switch lanes at the top, and ride back down. Many exciting duels were had. Ransom on this fixed gear townie, and Cory on a track bike battled hard. Mike and Ed pulled off some of the fastest duel runs. We really don't know who won the duel, but we all had a good time.

The Post Party
The post rally party was at Dawson Street Pub were fine brews can be purchased at a fair price. The celebration was beyond words (look at the pictures). This was where the rally king and queen were crowned. Jimmy Z. took the title of rally king while Ed Bush was crowned rally queen much to the disappointment of the other rally girls. Next year lets see some more ladies!

Thanks to all those who showed up and competed. We will see you all next year!
